Anjan Das was born in Purba Mednipur, West Bengal. He passed out from the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata in 1996 and completed his MFA from Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, M.P. in 2000.
He has won several awards which includes the Rajya Charykala Pradarshani Award, Kolkata in 1995 and Atul Bose award from the Academy of Fine arts, Kolkata in 1995. He has also won an award and scholarship from Elizabeth green Shields Foundation, Canada from 1996-98. In 2000 he was given a junior fellowship from National Scholarship department of the Government of India (Ministry of Human Resource Development). In 2002 he was awarded the Lalit Kala Scholarship Government of India (New Delhi). He has participated in several solo and groups in India. Anjan Das lives and works in Kolkata.
