Amit Ambalal was born in Ahmedabad in 1943 and was a businessman before he became a full time artist in 1979. He studied art under the guidance of the veteran artist and teacher Chhaganlal Jadhav. Ambalal held his first solo show at Hutheesing Visual Arts Center, Ahmedabad in 1980. Since then he has exhibited in several solo shows in Ahmedabad, Baroda, Mumbai, Kolkata and New Delhi. His work has also been shown at several group shows including the Sixth Triennale India (1986) and Bharat Bhavan Biennale (1990). Ambalal lives and works in Ahmedabad. ...
